Our Mission
Our mission is to empower underserved youth communites through free skateboarding programs and to be a strong voice for equity in public recreation by advocating for improved and inclusive skateparks.
We are committed to breaking down barriers that prevent access to skateboarding by offering no-cost programs, donated equipment, and safe environments where kids can be themselves, learn from mentors, and form lasting friendships. Our work is grounded in the belief that skateboarding has the power to transform not only individual lives but entire communities.
At The Free Skate Foundation, we recognize that access to recreational spaces and youth programs is not always equal — especially in historically marginalized neighborhoods. Too often, public skateparks are neglected, underfunded, or entirely absent where they’re needed most.
We advocate for change by working with local governments, community leaders, and grassroots organizations to ensure that public skateparks are safe, well-maintained, and welcoming to all.
Through mentorship, creative expression, and physical activity, we help youth develop confidence, emotional resilience, and a strong sense of community. Every session is an opportunity to encourage healthy risk-taking, celebrate small victories, and remind kids that they are seen, valued, and capable of greatness.
We believe in the power of showing up. Whether it’s donating boards, organizing events, or simply being there to cheer on a first drop-in, we strive to create consistent, positive experiences that leave a lasting impact.
Our community is built on respect, kindness, and inclusion — and those values guide everything we do.
Our community is built on respect, kindness, and inclusion — and those values guide everything we do.
This is more than skateboarding.
It’s a movement for mental health, physical well-being, social connection, and youth empowerment.
It’s about giving kids a reason to believe in themselves and the space to grow into the people they’re meant to be.
Together, we’re building a future where no kid is left on the sidelines — where every young person has the freedom to roll forward, explore their potential, and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Youth empowerment through skateboarding isn’t just our motto — it’s our mission, our calling, and our commitment to the next generation.
